Just last year, Matt Damon played an astronaut in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. And now he’s at it again, donning a space suit for Ridley Scott’s latest film. Our first look at Damon in The Martian has arrived via three new images, and unsurprisingly, he looks like an astronaut. It’s actually kind of a good look for him.

20th Century Fox debuted the new images via Empire, offering three (sort of) different looks at Damon in character as astronaut Mark Watney, who becomes stranded on Mars following his mission. It looks as though Scott has eschewed a harsh reddish-orange landscape in favor of something more subdued, though Damon’s costume features a vibrant orange more closely associated with the planet.

And that’s about all there is to these images, which don’t tell us a whole lot. Scott’s new film is based on the acclaimed novel by Andy Weir, which centers on Watney, who is presumed dead after he’s been left stranded on the red planet. Similar to his character in Interstellar, Damon’s role in The Martian finds him alone with very few supplies, forced to rely on his instincts and ingenuity to survive the harsh environment and try to send a signal to Earth. Meanwhile, NASA scientists work on a plan to bring him home, while his fellow crew members embark on a difficult rescue mission.

The Martian also stars Damon’s Interstellar co-star Jessica Chastain, as well as Kristen Wiig, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kate Mara, Michael Pena, Jeff Daniels and Donald Glover, and hits theaters on November 25.
