The more we see of Ridley Scott’s The Martian, the more we wish we could see this film, like, tomorrow. Two new official photos along with two new magazine covers give us yet another look at Scott’s sci-fi drama, featuring Matt Damon as a stranded astronaut — but when the scenery looks that beautiful, maybe you don’t need to be rescued.

The new photos feature Damon on an isolated Martian landscape, as well as what appears to be a rescue mission of sorts in the midst of a storm. There are also two new cover photos from Total Film, giving us a more stylized look at Damon in costume.

During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive. Millions of miles away, NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring “the Martian” home, while his crewmates concurrently plot a daring, if not impossible rescue mission. As these stories of incredible bravery unfold, the world comes together to root for Watney’s safe return.

Damon co-stars with Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Pena, Kate Mara, Sebastian Stan, Sean Bean and Aksel Hennie. The Martian hits theaters on October 2, aka not soon enough.
