It wasn't too long ago that work on a 'Tron 3,' the sequel to 2010's Disney action flick 'Tron: Legacy,' was announced with 'Eragon' writer Jesse Wigutow whipping up a script treatment. Considering how poor the Joseph Kosinski-directed movie performed, it wasn't that big of a surprise that the studio decided to swap out their writing team, but there is one person from 'Legacy' Disney will definitely be sticking with, and that's Garrett Hedlund, aka Sam Flynn himself.

NextMovie exclusively confirmed that Hedlund will indeed be returning to the lead role as Sam Flynn for 'Tron 3.' Though seemingly a man of few words, the actor did have this to say: "Disney's very excited... That's about that. You know, yeah, I'm very excited, Disney's very excited."

Hedlund is the first of the 'Tron: Legacy' crew to confirm a return for the sequel. Former writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, who are now said to co-produce the new flick, hinted that Jeff Bridges might make a return as definitions of life and death "will be explored in the the sequel." Though, being that it's still so early on in the process, nothing has been confirmed on that front.

Despite 'Tron: Legacy's' less-than-stellar theatrical run, are you excited about Hedlund's return for 'Tron 3'? What other cast members from the previous flick do you want to return along with him? Give us your theories in the comments below.
