‘Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning’ Red Band Trailer: The Monsters Are Inside the House

Coming at us riding a wave of surprisingly good reviews and even a small festival run, 'Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning' is the latest entry in the durable head-smashing franchise. This one once again features the blank stares of Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren, while also showcasing the newest action hero on the block, Scott Adkins. A red-band trailer for the film has just been unveiled and it's certainly worth a look.

The trailer in question has a rather eerie vibe, indicating this isn't your run of the mill action extravaganza but also a thriller with a creepy, hallucinatory tone. Of course, there is plenty of gun fighting, face-kicking and the like (wouldn't want to stray too far from a formula that works).

'Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning' comes out on October 25 via VOD, on its way to a theatrical run starting on November 30. The movie focuses on John (Adkins), who wakes up from a coma to discover his wife and daughter were slaughtered in a brutal home invasion. Haunted by images of the attack, he vows to kill the man responsible, Luc Deveraux (Van Damme).
