Released in 1998, 'Wild Things' was a campy and twisted erotic thriller following the exploits of two high school students who accuse their guidance counselor of a sex crime, but there's more to this story than meets the eye: corrupt cops, betrayal, Bill Murray as a hilarious lawyer, and loads of cash. The film received mixed reviews at the time of its release, but has become something of a cult classic in the years since. 16 years later, we revisit the cast of the film and see what they're up to now.

Then: Kevin Bacon played Sergeant Ray Duquette, who is investigating guidance counselor Sam Lombardo for sexual assault, but Duquette has his own sinister angle in this complex story.

Now: Since then, Bacon has appeared in films like 'Stir of Echoes,' 'Mystic River,' 'The Woodsman,' 'Frost/Nixon,' and 'X-Men: First Class.' He currently stars on the Fox thriller series 'The Following,' and has recently appeared in the films 'Crazy, Stupid, Love,' 'Jayne Mansfield's Car,' and 'R.I.P.D.' He is married to actress Kyra Sedgwick.

Then: Matt Dillon played Sam Lombardo, the guidance counselor accused of assaulting his two students. He had recently appeared in the films 'There's Something About Mary' and 'In and Out.'

Then: Former model and 'Starship Troopers' star Denise Richards played Kelly Lanier Van Ryan, a teen from a wealthy family who accuses her guidance counselor of assault as part of a ploy to get money from her own family.

Now: Richards went on to appear in the James Bond film 'The World Is Not Enough,' as well as 'Drop Dead Gorgeous,' 'Valentine,' 'Scary Movie 3,' and 'Love Actually.' She had a highly publicized marriage and divorce from actor Charlie Sheen, but the two are on friendly terms now, and Richards even guest-starred on Sheen's sitcom, 'Anger Management.' She's also guest-starred on '30 Rock' and '90210,' and currently stars on the series 'Twisted.' Her recent film appearances include 'Madea's Witness Protection' and the Lifetime movie 'Blue Lagoon: The Awakening.'

Neve Campbell, Suzie Marie Toller

Then: Neve Campbell played Suzie Marie Toller, a girl from a less privileged family who admits that she and Kelly made up the accusations about Sam for revenge -- but there's more to this story than she's letting on. Campbell was a major star in the 90s, with roles on 'Party of Five' and in the 'Scream' films.

Now: 'Party of Five' ended in 2000, and since then Campbell has appeared in the films 'When Will I Be Loved' and 'Reefer Madness,' and has guest-starred on 'The Simpsons' and 'Grey's Anatomy.' In 2011, she reprised the role of Sidney Prescott for 'Scream 4,' and she recently appeared in the TV film 'An Amish Murder,' as well as the miniseries 'Titanic: Blood and Steel.'

Bill Murray, Kenneth Bowden

Then: Bill Murray played sleazy lawyer Kenneth Bowden, who tries to help Sam Lombardo. Murray was well-known for roles in films like 'Scrooged,' 'Groundhog Day,' and 'What About Bob?'.

Now: Murray became more selective about his roles in the early aughts, appearing in Sofia Coppola's 'Lost in Translation' and Jim Jarmusch's 'Broken Flowers.' He's also a frequent star of Wes Anderson's films, having appeared in 'Rushmore,' 'The Royal Tenenbaums,' 'Fantastic Mr. Fox,' 'Moonrise Kingdom,' and the upcoming 'The Grand Budapest Hotel.' He's also recently appeared in George Clooney's 'The Monuments Men,' and can be seen next in 'St. Vincent de Van Nuys' and 'Rock the Kasbah.'

Theresa Russell, Sandra Van Ryan

Then: Theresa Russell, star of 'Black Widow' and 'Kafka,' played Sandra Van Ryan, Kelly's mother, who is shamed by the accusation that Sam assaulted her daughter because the two of them had an affair.

Now: Russell went on to appear in 'The Believer,' 'The Box,' 'Spider-Man 3,' and reunited with Denise Richards in the indie film 'Jolene.' She's appeared in several TV films, including the recent Lifetime movie 'Liz and Dick,' and has guest-starred on 'Fringe' and 'Cold Case.'

Daphne Rubin-Vega, Detective Gloria Perez

Then: Daphne Rubin-Vega played Detective Perez, who is skeptical of Kelly's story and sympathetic to Suzie. Rubin-Vega, a singer and actress, was previously known for originating the role of Mimi in the Broadway production of 'Rent.'

Now: Rubin-Vega also played Lucy in the Off-Broadway production of 'Jack Goes Boating,' and reprised the role for the 2010 film of the same name, directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman. She's starred on the shows 'Hustling' and 'Smash,' and has appeared in the films 'Union Square' and 'Emoticon.' She's also starred in productions of 'The Rocky Horror Show,' 'Les Miserables,' and 'A Streetcar Named Desire.'
