Amazon Brings ‘Lore’ to Life With First Trailer, October Premiere
We’re weeks away from spooky season, so how better to get a scare on than some Lore on Friday the 13th? The fan-favorite podcast is reborn as Amazon’s new six-episode adaptation, the first trailer for which brings everything from creepy dolls to exorcisms.
Now set for an all-episodes premiere on Friday, October 13, Lore adapts the Aaron Mahnke podcast of the same name to explore “the real-life tales behind pop culture’s most legendary horror myths, such as vampires, changelings, werewolves, séances and possessed dolls.” The six-episode series features among the cast featuring Terminator baddie Robert Patrick, True Blood alum Kristin Bauer van Straten, Fargo favorite Adam Goldberg, Holland Roden, Colm Feore, Campbell Scott and more.
Lore is executive produced by Walking Dead boss Gale Ann Hurd and X-Files alum Glen Morgan, and will borrow a few of the Apple “Best Of” podcast’s most iconic tales, including a boy whose doll takes on a life of its own, and a German village that hunts for a murderous creature. The series uses “documentary footage, narration, historical mixed media and cinematic scenes” to recount the tales.
Amazon’s Lore launch will also coincide with the October 10 release of The World of Lore; first in a three-book series from Mahnke. Watch the trailer again above, and stay tuned for more on the terrifying adaptation.
