It's been a tough going for Andre Braugher on TV, what with ABC both literally and figuratively sinking the high-profile drama 'Last Resort,' and even TNT pulling the plug on 'Men of a Certain Age' after only two seasons, but might the star's newest project prove unsinkable? Sources say that Andre Braugher has joined 'SNL' vet Andy Samberg's upcoming FOX cop comedy from 'Parks and Recreation' producers Dan Goor and Michael Schur. Find out who the former submarine captain will play inside!

The captain may have gone down with the ship on ABC's now-cancelled drama 'Last Resort,' but Andre Braugher will soon resurface on FOX. New reports claim that the older star has joined the forthcoming single-camera FOX comedy pilot from 'Parks and Recreation' creators Dan Goor and Michael Schur, which boasts funnyman Andy Samberg in the lead role among a group of oddball detectives

Braugher will play Captain Holt on the series, described as such, “After 30 years on the force, Captain Holt has finally gotten his own command and he’s not going to let anyone, least of all Jake (Samberg), screw it up.” Developed with an eye for fall 2013, the single-camera comedy will follow Samberg as the lead officer of “a diverse group of detectives in a precinct at the very edge of New York City,” with 'The Newsroom' star Terry Crews as Sergeant Terry Jeffords, the group’s no-nonsense captain.

What say you? Is the untitled Andy Samberg pilot looking better with each new edition?
