Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Trailer: Kenway Takes to the Seas

The newest video for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag is a walkthrough of Kenway's life as a pirate. Not only do we get to see the main character in action, but we also get to see the other star of the game: the Jackdaw, Kenway's ship.

The video begins with Kenway looting a dead body and finding a treasure map. As is the modus operandi for most pirates, he goes sniffing about the seas in order to retrieve the treasure from an island called Misteriosa.

Upon setting sail, Kenway sees British and Spanish ships firing on each other a little ways off the coast. He can choose to join in the fight or leave them alone to focus on finding the treasure on the map.

Storms are an important mechanic and must be navigated with care, since the Jackdaw can take damage from squalls and even lose some of its crew.

We also see a bit of the upgrades that the Jackdaw can receive, such as beefed-up guns that will help de-mast a ship, rendering them vulnerable and able to be boarded. You must take out the downed ship's crew and take out its captain in order to plunder its crew.

From that point, you'll be able to release the captured crew so they can join your ranks, imprison them and even salvage it for parts to repair the Jackdaw.

Watch the video above for more helpful hints and tips on how to become a master pirate in Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. The game will be released on Oct. 29 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U. The PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC versions will be released later on in the year.
