‘The Avengers’ Team With Stan Lee To…Help Sell Dr. Pepper?

Not sure if you’re aware of this, but there’s an ‘Avengers’ movie coming to theaters, and I think it’s sometime soon. It stars a “leader,” a “genius,” a “powerhouse” and a “warrior,” according to a new Dr. Pepper commercial. Why don’t I just let Stan “The Man” Lee explain it from here.

“Now that’s how you assemble,” the Marvel Comics legend states at the tail end of this clever commercial. “Sign ‘em up.”

By “them,” he means the four nondescript actors hired to play knockoff versions of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Chris Evans in the Dr. Pepper spot. The Downey Jr. clone is the most accurate. That dude could be RDJ’s stand in for ‘Iron Man 3.’

The commercial hocks commemorative ‘Avengers’ cans, which you no doubt will be able to grab at your nearest grocer soon.

At this point, we’re committed to showing you everything ‘Avengers’ that hits the Internet. Truthfully, though, we can’t wait until May 4 … when the blockbuster finally opens and we can comment on the actual film (instead of soda commercials that happen to feature replicas of famous superheroes).
