There are a lot of movies about adults searching for their birth parents, but those are often warm, heart-touching stories about love and reunion. In Bastardsthat search is more about two sons digging up their mother’s sexual past.

Owen Wilson’s Kyle and Ed Helms’ Peter learn their mother (Glenn Close) has been lying to them about the identity of their father for years. The two decide the solve the mystery and find their dad, but end up hearing a bunch of gross stories from older men about how their mom was in bed. One of those former boyfriends in Terry Bradshaw, another is played by a hot-headed J.K. Simmons, and another contender is played by Ving Rhames. All while going on their daddy hunt road trip, the brothers also encounter some ridiculous Hangover-esque shenanigans, like picking up a hitchhiker (Kat Williams) and almost getting hit by a train.

Helmed by first time director Lawrence Sher, who worked as the DP on The Hangover films, Bastards also stars Retta, Bill Irwin, and Harry Shearer. Bastards opens January 27, 2017.
