First ‘Battleship’ Clip Looks an Awful Lot Like ‘Transformers’

Beware, beware, here comes a brand new clip for Peter Berg's new film 'Battleship.' If you need confirmation once again, yes, they have made a sci-fi movie out of a simple board game.

Do you really want to see how much this clip from the sci-fi action film is similar to Michael Bay's 'Transformers'? Then just check out the video below. Not only are the mechanisms from the alien weapons similar to anything you would ever see out of the 'Transformers' series, but even the sounds of the gears in the machines are pretty much the same. Is it seriously that hard to make your own unique fictional weapon not look like it leaped out of 'Transformers'? Apparently it is.

'Battleship' has a cast that includes Taylor Kitsch, Brooklyn Decker, Liam Neeson, Alexander Skarsgård and Rihanna. You wonder if movie-goers will be willing to sit through another Taylor Kitsch film after the recent disappointment that is 'John Carter.'

In the film based off of the popular board game, 'Battleship' centers on an international fleet of ships that are in the midst of a Naval war games exercise whose activities get interrupted by an alien race. The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 18, 2012.
