Earlier this month, fans of 'Dawson's Creek' were delighted to learn that ABC's 'Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23' and its James Van Der Beek approximation would finally broach the subject of a 'Creek' reunion, even bringing in former series star Busy Philipps to play around with the idea.  Still, as much as we love the parody of the idea, what does the current 'Cougar Town' star have to say about an actual reunion?

Speaking to E! Online, former 'Dawson's Creek' star Busy Philipps discussed her upcoming turn on the 'Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23' season 2 premiere as a heightened version of herself broaching the possibility of a reunion of the 2000-era WB drama.  Even though the 'Cougar Town' star was quick to point out that the Busy Philipps season in the episode doesn't necessarily match the star in real life, Philipps gave her true feelings on the prospect of a reunion.

Reunion shows historically are terrible ideas. When has a reunion ever worked out well for anyone ever? When have fans been satisfied? When has the cast been satisfied? It just doesn't seem to work, right?

Maybe what people really want is watching us hanging out together walking in slow motion in front of a creek. We could do that.

Should Philipps' words kill the prospect of ever seeing all the main stars head back to 'Dawson's Creek,' especially now that Joshua Jackson's 'Fringe' is coming to a close, and Katie Holmes is once again a free woman?  No, common sense should, but it's still fun to dream.

What say you?  Do you think 'Dawson's Creek could/should ever reunite, or should we settle for Philipps upcoming 'Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23' appearance?  Check out the season 2 premiere on October 23, and tell us your thoughts in the comments!
