While not every pilot catches our attention each season, we've certainly turned our heads for CBS' upcoming single-camera adaptation of hit Cameron Diaz film 'Bad Teacher,' which just last week cast comedian David Alan Grier in a leading role as the titular character's principal. Now, as CBS continues casting its high profile projects, we've learned that former 'Fringe' star and indie darling Ari Graynor has secured the title role, so get the latest on the new 'Bad Teacher' inside!

Whether you're hot for CBS' 'Bad Teacher' or just curious, there's no denying the eye network has picked a worthy successor to the film version's Cameron Diaz. Joining the recent casting of David Alan Grier as Principal Carl Gaines, 'Fringe' and 'The Sopranos' alum Ari Graynor has joined the project in the lead role.

For those unfamiliar with the 2011 Cameron Diaz film and its upcoming adaptation, Graynor will play Meredith Davis, a “hot, confident, unapologetic trophy wife. The kind of woman other women hate. But when her husband leaves her without a dime, the fantasy is over and she’s forced to get a job. Meredith, a smart and savvy survivor, doesn’t miss a beat. When she hears there are a lot of rich single dads at a local middle school, she sets her sights on a teaching career. Meredith Davis knows what she wants and more importantly, how to get it.”. 'Community' and 'Happy Endings' writer Hilary Winston provided the script for the adaptation and will serve as executive producer alongside the original film's writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupinsky.

What say you? Do you think Ari Graynor will bring the same sexy edge to the CBS version of 'Bad Teacher?'
