CBS ‘Under the Dome’ Releases First Official Photos

The June 24 premiere of CBS' new Stephen King thriller series 'Under the Dome' is fast approaching, and we're eager to get a look at how the 2009 novel works as an ongoing series. A few impressive trailers have made their way online, but what do the first official photos from 'Under the Dome' reveal, aside from series stars Rachelle Lefevre, Mike Vogel and 'Breaking Bad' star Dean Norris?

'Under the Dome' may have caught on from Stephen King's 2009 novel, so much so that 'The Simpsons' and CBS' new drama will share affectionate nods, but will the TV adaptation prove as compelling with an ongoing series? The first trailers provided some appropriately creepy and intense visuals to a town completely cut off from the outside world, as do the first official photos from the series tease some major devastation occurring in the pilot episode alone.

Written by ‘LOST’s’ Brian K. Vaughan, with original ‘Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ helmer Niels Arden Oplev directing, ‘Under the Dome’ follows the book of the same name, focusing on a small New England town that finds itself inexplicably encased in a transparent dome with no hope of penetration. Inside, the residents of the town battle increasingly apocalyptic conditions as they struggle to understand what’s happened to them. The cast also includes ‘LOST‘s’ Jeff Fahey, Colin Ford (‘Supernatural‘), Natalie Martinez, Alex Koch, Britt Robertson, Nicholas Strong and Jolene Purdy.
