If there’s one thing I like, it’s big, bold, over-the-top action films. And if there’s two things I like, it’s a big, bold over-the-top action film starring a really charismatic and self-deprecating hero. So, basically, this is the best day ever. Because, per Variety, Chad Stahelski and David Leitch—the directors of the big, bold, over-the-top 2014 action film ‘John Wick’—are in “early talks” with Universal Pictures to make ‘Cowboy Ninja Viking’ with Chris Pratt—a really charismatic and self-deprecating hero.

Given the title ‘Cowboy Ninja Viking,’ I initially assumed the film would be a thoughtful mood piece, a cinematic tone poem of sorts, about a sensitive accountant who raises puppies and goes for long, meditative walks in the park. But apparently it’s about a cowboy ninja viking. And, more specifically:

The story follows a man who suffers from multiple personality disorder and is put into a government program to be turned into a super-soldier with the attributes of a cowboy, a ninja and a viking.

John Wick was almost a cowboy ninja viking himself (or at least a hitman ninja assassin), and the film had a sort of lurid, giddy sense of humor (not to mention a lot of stylish action) that seems like a very good fit for this material. So I’m 100 percent on board with this project and this creative team. Universal is hoping to get ‘Cowboy Ninja Viking’ made before Pratt heads back into outer space for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2.’
