Gaming entertainment recently lost a few nostalgic figures this week. Christopher Evan Welch, voice of Miles "Tails" Prower from the 'Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog' animated series, and Danny Wells, the actor who played Luigi in the '80s show, 'The Super Mario Bros. Super Show,' have both passed away.

News of Christopher Evan Welch's and Danny Wells's passing came from Variety and Kotaku respectively. Welch was known for appearing in films such as 'War of the Worlds,' 'Lincoln,' 'The Master' and 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona.' But to gamers who grew up in the early '90s, he might be better known as the voice of Miles "Tails" Prower, Sonic the Hedgehog's fox sidekick who could use his tails to hover like a helicopter.

Welch died early Monday morning at a Los Angeles hospital. According to Variety, he is believed to have been 48-years-old.

Wells was a Canadian actor who is best known for playing Luigi, the taller Mario brother clad in green overalls, on the 'Super Mario Bros. Super Show.' He passed away Thursday, Nov. 28 at the age of 72. Aside from the 'Super Show,' Wells also had a recurring role on 'The Jeffersons' and did voice work for animated shows and video games like 'Batman: The Animated Series' and 'Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.'

Our condolences go out to their families, friends and fans.
