Like his onscreen counterpart, Don Draper, Jon Hamm is a man of good taste.  Which may explain his recent statement to Elle UK referring to Kim Kardashian as "a f**king idiot."

"Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian, stupidity is certainly celebrated...Being a f**king idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you're rewarded significantly," Hamm told the UK edition of the popular women's magazine.

Kardashian released the following statement in response to Hamm's comment via, what else, Twitter:

"I just heard about the comment Jon Hamm made about me in an interview. I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life. We’re all working hard and we all have to respect one another. Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, “stupid,” is in my opinion careless."

Well, she does have a point.

Hamm is making the press rounds as the show he helped make a hit, 'Mad Men' gets sets for its two-hour season five premiere on March 25th. Dropping Internet-gobbling names like Kardashian's in an interview isn't a bad way to get the word out.  Surely, Don Draper would have thought of that.
