'Jupiter Ascending,' the Wachowski's follow-up to 'Cloud Atlas,' has begun filming with Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum in the lead roles. While we've been keeping track of the project through casting reports, we still had no official word on what it was actually about. Now Warner Bros. has released its first plot synopsis for us, along with the confirmed casting roster.

'Jupiter Ascending' seemed a lot like 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' in that it has a great director and notable cast, but for the longest time the plot details were kept under wraps. So, are you ready for your first taste of what to expect from The Wachowski's latest sci-fi epic? Via press release:

Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning toilets and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine (Channing Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along - her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.

Sounds kinda cool, yes? This original story was created by The Wachowskis, who are also directing, and their long-time 'Matrix' buddy Grant Hill is producing. In addition to Kunis and Tatum, WB has also confirmed the casting of Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth, Tuppence Middleton, Doona Bae, James D'Arcy and Tim Pigott-Smith. We just hope it'll perform better than 'Cloud Atlas.'

What do you think? Do the Wachowskis have a sci-fi hit on their hands? Let us know what you think in the comments.
