Arrow showrunners made clear that Matt Ryan’s crossover return to the role of Constantine was a one-off for Season 4, but in lieu of seeing the actor’s take once again, we can at least hear it in the animated Justice League Dark. A new featurette goes behind-the-scenes of the long-awaited adaptation, including Ryan’s return as the chain-smoking demon-fighter.

Following the release of DC’s animated The Killing Joke, a new eight-minute featurette goes deep inside the long-awaited Justice League Dark, once in line for a film adaptation with Guillermo del Toro. In addition to Matt Ryan reprising his role as John Constantine, the film also features returning voice Jason O’Mara as Batman, Camilla Luddington as Zatanna, Nicholas Turturro as Deadman, Ray Chase as Jason Blood/Etrigan, and other characters like Black Orchid and Swamp Thing.

For the moment at least, Justice League Dark lacks an official release date, but is expected later this year. Constantine fans, in the meantime, can watch all episodes of the NBC series on CW Seed (don’t go reading too far into that just yet), and stay tuned for further word on the character.
