Louis C.K. and Albert Brooks Leading TBS Animated ‘The Cops’ Comedy
Around this time last year, we first heard that Louie creator Louis C.K. and the legendary Albert Brooks had partnered on a new animated comedy for FX, and one year later, it’s finally official (with a tweak). TBS has officially ordered the new series, which places both comedians as The Cops.
The tentatively-titled animated comedy has been greenlit for ten episodes, with C.K. and Brooks starring and executive producing alongside Greg Daniels, Dino Stamatopoulos, Dave Becky and Howard Klein. Slated to premiere in 2018, the series also has a first synopsis:
The Cops follows Al (Brooks) and Lou (C.K.), two Los Angeles patrolmen trying their best to protect and serve, sometimes failing at both. Ride with them as they patrol one of the biggest cities in the world, then go home with them and be glad you’re not married to either.
We have made the bold decision to put Louis C.K., Albert Brooks and Greg Daniels at the forefront of what is going to be a serious push into animated comedy for TBS in 2018. I only hope these newbies know what they’re doing.
We may not see much until later in the year, but can you really top Louis C.K. and Albert Brooks performing together? Stay tuned for more on The Cops.
