‘Mad Men’ Final Season Photo Gallery: The Gang Garden Parties Into the ‘70s
Our first look at the final seven episodes of AMC’s Mad Men proved colorful, if not particularly insightful into the “End of an Era” promised by producers. Now, the whole swingin’ ‘60s gang has arrived to party in the full gallery of cast photos, so join us for wild speculation on the final fates of Mad Men’s Don, Peggy, Pete, Betty, Roger, Joan and all the rest!
We’d doubt if anyone actually attends any kind of garden party through the final seven Mad Men episodes, though darn it all if this doesn’t look like Peggy and Don shippers’ year, given the glance between the pair in one of the above shots. Elsewhere, Betty practices her best Jabba the Hutt without a single standing shot, Pete and Roger embrace the era of sideburns and plaid, Megan bares belly in the world’s most appropriate outfit, and pour Ken Cosgrove gets a bedazzled eye-patch. Presumably.
Ever airtight about spoilers, here’s what series creator Matthew Weiner says of the April 5 premiere, in which “each [episode] feels like a finale of the show”:
What an incredible journey this has been. I take great pride in what the entire ‘Mad Men’ team was able to create episode after episode, season after season. We sincerely thank the fans for joining us on this ride and hope it has meant as much to them as it has to us.
Well, what do we make of the final round of Mad Men season 7 photos? Will the AMC drama move into the ‘70s full-time, judging by the decor, or will things pick up in July 1969? Will the rest of the season spill over into full-on musical, after Bert Cooper’s surprise exit? What other wild speculations might we gleam from the above gallery?
