It was only a matter of time before someone got around to making a 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' poster that isn't overly photoshopped garbage. It may be a week late since the film is already in theaters and already making a ton of money, but here it is! Interestingly, it may ultimately appeal more to fans of the X-Men comics than fans of the new movie.

As you can see below, the poster places most of the focus on the Mutant-hunting Sentinel robots, allowing them to fill the vast majority of the frame. The good guys only get a small appearance at the bottom and even then, it's just Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, Patrick Stewart's Professor X and Ian McKellen's Magneto. What's really strange is that the Sentinels aren't depicted as those from the movie, but are actually drawn to look like their comic book counterparts (which is why they look so simple and so cool). Also, Professor X and Magneto being labelled "killed" and "caught" is a very specific reference to this famous comic book cover. Those labels don't apply to the events of the movie in any way whatsoever.

You've got to hand it to the artist: only a truly nerdy institution would create a poster for a movie that values the comic source material over the actual movie.

(A previous version of this article incorrectly attributed this poster to Mondo. We apologize for the error.)
