The Five Movies Wes Anderson Made ‘The French Dispatch’ Crew Watch Before Filming
Wes Anderson’s filmography is singular. Look at almost any frame from any film in his career, and it is immediately clear: This is the work of Wes Anderson. But as unique as Anderson’s movies are, they are also borne of Anderson’s own inspirations, which he often passes on to his cast and crew before each new production. Before he began work on the upcoming The French Dispatch, for example, he gave his team a list of film features to take in and consider.
According to its official synopsis, The French Dispatch “brings to life a collection of stories from the final issue of an American magazine published in a fictional 20th-century French city. It stars Benicio del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Léa Seydoux, Frances McDormand, Timothée Chalamet, Lyna Khoudri, Jeffrey Wright, Mathieu Amalric, Stephen Park, Bill Murray and Owen Wilson.”
