‘New Girl’ Trades In Leslie Mann for “Party Girl” Parker Posey

Who’s that girl? (Who’s that girl?) It’s… Parker? Move over, Zooey Deschanel. Parker Posey has been cast as “Penis Party Girl” in the season premiere of the FOX hit sitcom ‘New Girl.'

The brilliant improv comic is coming off of a very strong arc on FX’s ‘Louie,’ where she played Louis C.K.’s unpredictable love interest – and matched him beat for comedic beat. So it’s outstanding news to hear that another offbeat, risk-taking show is willing to tap into her endless talents.

TV Line reports Posey will play a wild and crazy girl at a party the gang holds to celebrate the removal of Schmidt’s (Max Greenfield) penis cast. The role originally was intended for Leslie Mann (‘ParaNorman,’ ‘Knocked Up’), but Mrs. Judd Apatow had to back out of the part for undisclosed scheduling conflicts.

So instead, Posey gets another TV gig, giving us reason to celebrate. No word on how long Posey will stay on the show. Is this a single episode cameo? Will she become a semi-regular? We’ll find out more when ‘New Girl’ returns for its second season, premiering Tuesday, Sept. 25.
