The Nvidia Shield has finally received a release date! And what's more is that it's going to get a pretty nice price-cut as well.

According to a blog post from Nvidia, their handheld Android console will be released on June 27. They also dropped a bomb by revealing that the Shield's price has come down from $349 to $299, dropping down a full $50.

Early adopters who pre-ordered the Shield back when the price was $349 have nothing to worry about, since they'll only be charged $299 when the product ships.

Nvidia cited fan feedback for the changes and said, "They’ve helped us build a better product. Feedback from gamers is why SHIELD’s triggers have the perfect throw length. Why SHIELD’s buttons have just the right amount of give. Why SHIELD’s thumb sticks are so satisfying to flick. Why playing games on SHIELD’s pure Android software feels so slick."

What do you think about this news? Are you willing to get a Shield now that it's dropped down in price and will be released soon? Let us know in the comments.
