The upcoming mobile role-playing game, Star Wars: Uprising, will help bridge together the stories of Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.

Kabam, Disney and Lucasfilm have announced Star Wars: Uprising, which will be the first mobile RPG to take place after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and before Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Star Wars: Uprising will let you create your own character who will unite a ragtag crew to fight against the remnants of the Empire — just because Vader and Palpatine are dead and the Death Star was destroyed doesn't mean that the entire Galactic Empire's hierarchy just fell apart and millions of Stormtroopers filed for unemployment. Kabam also released an announcement trailer, provided above, which shows how members of the Empire were able to pick up the pieces and maintain control after the events of Episode VI.

Star Wars: Uprising is a deep role playing game (RPG) experience that will immerse players in the Star Wars universe during a unique time following the fall of Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine,” said Kabam Senior Vice President Aaron Loeb (a former Vice President of EA). “The Kabam RPG Studio has taken its collective experience and passion for role playing games to focus on creating a unique and immersive gameplay experience for Star Wars fans and RPG gamers around the world.”

In Star Wars: Uprising, you'll get to experience what happened at Hoth, the Cloud City and Endor after the death of the Emperor. You'll be able to make a Smuggler, Bounty Hunter, Rebel Guerilla, Diplomat or Gambler and try to help the Rebel Alliance in whatever ways you can. Uprising will hit the iOS and Android formats sometime this fall.
