‘Oldboy’ Photos Reveal Samuel L. Jackson’s New Hair, Plus a Hammer and Umbrella
We're just a few of months away from the release of Spike Lee's 'Oldboy,' a remake of Park Chan-wook's insta-classic South Korean tale of suffering and revenge. FilmDistrict released some new, hi-res photos today to give us a peek at some of the film's major players -- including Samuel L. Jackson with a blonde afro-mohawk.
We are getting more and more excited for the release of 'Oldboy,' and these new images are really selling us on Lee's visual style for the film, which seems to tip its hat nicely to the original film, while also retaining some of Lee's own colorful sensibilities -- particularly the girl with the yellow umbrella and Jackson's crazy hair. You can check out the hi-res images of all that and more below.
The official synopsis:
'Oldboy' is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.
