Casting for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (which we have been assured is indeed the final chapter…for now) is complete, with Orange Is the New Black breakout star Ruby Rose joining the lineup along with returning cast members Iain Glen and Shawn Roberts. In addition, Screen Gems has revealed the official plot for the final installment, which unsurprisingly sees Milla Jovovich’s Alice fighting the evil Umbrella Corporation again.

Screen Gems has announced the official cast lineup for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, which features Jovovich reprising her role as series hero Alice along with Ali Larter as Claire Redfield. Joining the women this time out are Game of Thrones star Iain Glen reprising his role as Dr. Isaacs and Shawn Roberts returning as Albert Wesker — the latter of whom was last seen betraying Alice at the end of Resident Evil: Retribution.

The Final Chapter picks up directly where Retribution left off, and also stars Australian model / actress Ruby Rose (Orange Is the New Black), Eoin Macken, William Levy, Fraser James, and Japanese model / TV personality Rola. Here’s the official plot description:

Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.

In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.

Paul W.S. Anderson has also returned to direct the final installment in the franchise, which will hit theaters on January 27, 2017.
