Rihanna is hellbent on making the transition from stage to screen and, according to reports, she'll follow up her role in this summer's 'Battleship' with a role suitably edgy enough for her image in the 'Fast and the Furious' sequel 'Fast Six.'

The Sun - a notorious British tabloid so take this news with a grain of salt - reports that Rihanna has just signed on to play the role of the villain in the sixth installment of the franchise, which has already signed on Gina Carano to join returning stars Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson.

'Fast Six' will move the action from Tokyo to England, with filming expected to start as early as next month. Little else is known about the film, but we do know that Jason Statham turned down a role, making Rihanna the most bizarre rebound casting in recent memory.

The artist also known as Ri-Ri recently signed on for a cameo in Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel's 'The End of the World.' Appropriate, considering this is 2012 and Rihanna is now a movie star, and according to Mayan prophecy, a feisty R&B singer from Barbados landing movie roles is the final ingredient in apocalypse stew.

We'd like to formally start the petition for the official song of 'Fast Six': Rihanna's "We Found Fast in a Furious Place."
