Until recently, fans of the BBC's wildly popular modern 'Sherlock' couldn't be sure if their beloved series would return at all, given the increasingly busy schedules of leads Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, which made it all the more triumphant to hear that the series would begin filming its third season before a fourth. Filming is underway for the premiere episode "The Empty Hearse," but what do the latest set photos and video reveal?

It's a banner time for fans of BBC's 'Sherlock,' currently in production on its third season over in the UK. Amid the fantastic news that both Cumberbatch and Freeman had been commissioned for a fourth season as well, new set reports from season 3 premiere "The Empty Hearse" (referencing Sherlock's revival from “The Adventure of the Empty House") have revealed some intriguing tidbits.

Apart from a sure-to-be-fan-adored sequence of Sherlock on a motorcycle racing toward a mysterious fire, fans noted that Freeman's real-life partner Amanda Abbington had taken a new role alongside the title character. Whether or not Abbington ends up playing John Watson's literary love interest Mary Morstan remains to be seen, but both were clearly dismayed by the scene's fire.
