The arrival of Splinter Cell: Blacklist is a little over a month away, so Ubisoft keeps sending out videos to prep us for the return of Sam Fisher and his stealthy awesomeness.

This video features Splinter Cell Community Developer Zack Cooper going over the finer points of the Spies vs. Mercs Classic mode. While this video is mainly for newcomers to the series, it also offers some tips and tricks for Splinter Cell veterans who haven't stretched their black ops muscles in a while.

The spies are played in a third-person view and are tasked with hacking consoles in order to gather intel. They'll take advantage of the environment, as well as the shadows, to keep out of sight. Once a hack has begun, they'll have to stay within the console's proximity until the hack is complete.

Mercs are equipped with flashlights for finding spies, heavy armor for protection and powerful weapons. Their gadgets can be used to set traps for sneaky spies, but they shouldn't rely on their flashlights since they give away their positions.

Learn more about how to be successful in a game of Spies vs. Mercs by checking out the video above. Look out for Splinter Cell: Blacklist when it's released on Aug. 20 for PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox 360, and Wii U.
