The second part of the Spies vs. Mercs Intro video series has popped up. In it, we see Ubisoft Community Developer Zack Cooper and Level Design Director Geoff Ellenor showing us the ropes in Splinter Cell: Blacklist's multiplayer mode.

Unlike the spies shown in the first part, the mercs play the game in first-person mode in order to more efficiently destroy the other team. We see some of the gadgets that the mercs use against the spies, like proximity mines and a device that tags any nearby spies. The coolest gadget seems to be the done, which you can launch and then pilot around, flying into enemy spies and exploding at will.

The most important part about being a merc, other than keeping the spies from hacking into the terminals, is to avoid getting stuck in the shadows and becoming the victim of a Death From Above attack, which is a one-hit kill. You'll have to stick close to your teammates for support and to spot spies who try to sneak up on your friends.

Watch the video above and let us know your thoughts on the multiplayer. Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be released on Aug. 20 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U.
