2015 is undoubtedly the year of Star Wars. In addition to the highly-anticipated debut of The Force Awakens, Marvel began releasing a new line of Star Wars comics earlier this year, including solo character books for Darth Vader and Chewbacca, and Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens — Shattered Empire. If you haven’t had a chance to pick up some of these titles yet, you’re in luck: Marvel is giving away a free sampler featuring previews of the first issue of several of their Star Wars comics.

By now, we know all about Finn, Rey and Kylo Ren. OK, we don’t really know much about them at all, but in the highly secretive world of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we at least know who they are. Just in case that surprise Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer for Japan wasn’t enough for you this morning, we have two new quick updates for you in the form of some new Star Wars posters. One of which is for Asian audiences only, the other you’ll see hanging in your local movie theater.

J.J. Abrams recently said that the third Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer that debuted back on October 19 would be the last trailer we would see for the upcoming Star Wars film. Turns out, even J.J. Abrams is wrong sometimes. Today, a new Japanese Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer appeared online with lots of new footage and BB-8 fans are going to love this.

If you’ve been on the internet at all this week, then you likely know the story of 32-year-old Daniel Fleetwood, a Star Wars fan suffering from a terminal illness, whose one wish was to see The Force Awakens before he passes away. That wish came true thanks to the wonderful folks at Lucasfilm, who brought the film to Daniel’s house for a special private screening.

Just because there won’t be any more Star Wars trailers, doesn’t mean that’s the last of the Star Wars marketing. In fact, far from it. Today we have a whole bunch of new Star Wars: The Force Awakens character posters including Han Solo, Princess Leia, Finn, Rey and Kylo Ren!

Recently, in a feature in Interview magazine, original Star Wars star Carrie Fisher implored new Star Wars star Daisy Ridley, “Don’t be a slave like I was,” in reference to the gold, metal bikini Princess Leia wore in Return of the Jedi. Fisher, who previously referred to that bikini as “what supermodels will eventually wear in the seventh ring of hell,” must’ve struck a chord. A new rumor suggests that Disney and Lucasfilm have banned the use of Slave Leia in any and all Star Wars merchandising including action figures and comics.

Cosplay has become part of the communal fan experience. Dressing up as your favorite characters in increasingly elaborate fashion has gone from niche hobby to a pop culture phenomenon, especially when it comes to Star Wars. But, as cosplay has become almost omnipresent at fan functions, there’s one place where it won’t be welcome. Three of the biggest movie theater chains in the U.S. have enacted some strict restrictions on Star Wars cosplay during upcoming screenings of The Force Awakens.

It’s no secret that Disney and Lucasfilm have been keeping things, well, rather secret when it comes to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, carefully doling out just enough marketing to maintain excitement, while holding back plenty of secrets about the highly-anticipated new installment in the franchise. In an effort to further prevent fans from learning a little too much, Disney has decided to delay the release of the official tie-in novel.

Harrison Ford appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night to talk publicly for the first time about breaking his ankle on the set of Star Wars, crashing his plane and how Star Wars: The Force Awakens is an “incredible” movie. Oh, we should also mention he did all this while dressed up as a hot dog.
