American Horror Story: Hotel

American Horror Story franchise vet Lily Rabe was among the last confirmed to return for Hotel, and wasn’t fully identified by the TCA panel’s recent rundown. Now, we’ve learned that not only will Rabe appear in the traditional two-part Horror Story Halloween arc, but she’ll do so as famed Monster killer Aileen Wuornos.

The fifth iteration of FX’s American Horror Story hasn’t yet filmed enough Hotel footage for a proper trailer, but Ryan Murphy and the expansive cast took to TCA with plenty of new details on the fall premiere. Not only do we know what each character will be, we’ve also learned that past Horror Story characters will check in over time. Plus, free poster!

Now that FX’s TCA presence has fully gotten underway (infecting us all with a third Strain), some of the fall’s most anticipated releases have their official premieres. Not only does the hotly-awaited Fargo have a Season 2 date to slide into the ‘70s, but so too will the American Horror Story: Hotel open for business alongside The Bastard Executioner.

Per E! Online, Criss has entered negotiations to guest in the Hotel Halloween installment as Silver Lake hipster Justin, who books a stay at the titular hotel with his girlfriend in hopes of escaping trick-or-treaters, only to end up on Kathy Bates’ bad side for demanding too much of room service. Bates’ character heads the establishment, and in turn offers “a Halloween trick they will never forget.”

Even after Comic-Con 2015, American Horror Story isn’t finished booking old favorites for its fifth season Hotel. Franchise veteran Lily Rabe is the latest to check in for a fall stay, albeit with a bit more blood than we’re used to, joining the Horror serial in a killer role.

American Horror Story: Hotel’s latest castings haven’t done much to validate the series’ supposed Season 5 reinvention, but a new interview with Ryan Murphy might. Not only does the creator confirm that Denis O’Hare will return for Hotel, so too does the possibility of Jessica Lange’s return remain open, while a number of new Hotel details have emerged.

American Horror Story will likely open more than a few Hotel doors with its Comic-Con 2015 appearance, but fans needn’t wait for the latest Freak Show in store. Joining several other alum, Finn Wittrock is the latest to check into American Horror Story: Hotel, and might find himself in yet another bloody romp with Matt Bomer.
