There are some pretty bonkers moments in Stephen King’s IT, including a couple that would fall pretty low on the list of “most likely to be included in a film adaptation.” As it turns out, at least one of those scenes — a climactic supernatural confrontation — will appear in IT: Chapter Two, Andy Muschietti’s sequel to last year’s hit adaptation of the iconic horror novel. Before you get worried, it’s not THAT scene.

The sequel follows the Losers Club as adults, while also including flashbacks to their childhoods.

It’s been a long and winding road to a proper adaptation of Joe Hill’s Locke & Key, and there may yet be more disappointment in store. Reports indicate that Hulu has passed on a pilot from It director Andrés Muschietti, leaving it uncertain the series will find a home.

In the days following the release of IT, several fans (ourselves included) began speculating about who might play the adult versions of the Losers Club in the sequel. One of the most popular choices for the role of grown-up Beverly Marsh, played in the first film by the scene-stealing Sophia Lillis, was Jessica Chastain — a sensible pick, considering that Chastain previously starred in director Andres Muschietti’s feature debut, Mama. As for Chastain herself, she’s totally down to take on that evil clown.
