If you’re the Star Wars fan who loves to be teased with lots of hints and clips about the upcoming movies then J.J. Abrams is basically your Darth Vader. Abrams hates to tease people with lots of hints and clips; he prefers to keep as much of his movies hidden from view for as long as humanly possible. His Bad Robot team practices a code of omerta that would make the Mafia blush.

Marvel abstained from Comic-Con this year and Lucasfilm didn’t bring any new Star Wars footage to San Diego (that behind the scenes featurette was great, though), but we knew we wouldn’t have to wait much longer for Disney to show off these two highly anticipated properties — the studio’s D23 expo is approaching, and sure enough, Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar will all have a major presence.

During the D23 Expo's second day of movie presentations in the Anaheim Convention Center in California, Sean Bailey, Walt Disney Studios' president of production, came out to the stage to present the upcoming live-action offerings, including the first footage of Angelina Jolie as the evil witch in 'Maleficent.'

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, after presenting the D23 Expo crowd with some brand-new footage of 'Thor: The Dark World,' moved the presentation along to 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier,' starting with the reveal of the first footage.

Marvel Studios and Disney previously announced that they would be embarking on their first animated Marvel movie adventure with 'Big Hero 6,' adapted from the relatively unknown comic book of the same name. During this year's D23 Expo in California, the audience at the Anaheim Convention Center got a preview of the film via concept footage, art and some teaser tidbits of the story.

'Zootopia' (which is a working title) was announced to be the next big Walt Disney Animation Studios film coming in 2016, announced at this year's D23 Expo.

'Planes,' in theaters now, was a major step in broadening the world of 'Cars.' Pixar and Disney are so confident with this new universe they're building that, during the D23 Expo, Disney chief creative officer John Lasseter previewed the next installment, 'Planes: Fire & Rescue.'

Following presentations for Disney-Pixar properties 'The Good Dinosaur,' the upcoming 'Monster's University' short film, 'Party Central,' and 'Finding Dory,' this year's D23 Expo brought out director Peter Doctor and producer Jonas Riviera to introduce their upcoming project, 'Inside Out.'

'Finding Dory,' the sequel to the Pixar hit 'Finding Nemo,' was featured during this year's D23 Expo in California. While no new footage was offered, as production has only just begun, director Andrew Stanton and producer Lindsey Collins revealed some of the new cast members in the film, as well as a few interesting plot details.
