Deathstroke

Arrow fans were delighted when Manu Bennett reprised his role as Slade Wilson for the fifth and sixth seasons, Deathstroke costume and all. Sadly, that last two-parter may have to tide us over awhile, as Arrow bosses confirm DC once again rescinded access to the character.

Justice League ties Deathstroke right into the Justice League universe.

Ever since Matt Reeves took over directing duties for Ben Affleck on The Batman, fans have been wondering what would happen to Deathstroke’s role in the film. Joe Manganiello was set to play the DC Comics character in the solo Batman project, but that was before Reeves came aboard and scrapped the script Affleck wrote with DC’s Geoff Johns. It seems like Deathstroke’s part in the superhero universe isn’t dead after all.

The future of the DC Cinematic Universe is filled with lots of mystery. We don’t know what that second Justice League film we be called, nor do we have many details on Aquaman and Shazam. But we might finally have an idea as to when Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie will hit theaters.

Any Arrow fan well-knows that Manu Bennett’s Deathstroke has served as the series’ peak villain, though convoluted movie plans have largely kept the character offscreen since. Now, it appears as if the series’ 100th episode will at last feature Deathstroke’s return, but is Manu Bennett behind the mask?

We’ve seen one Flash digging another’s costume, and now Arrow star Manu Bennett weighs in on Joe Manganiello taking the role of Deathstroke to the big screen for Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie.

There were a lot of rumors about perennial DC Comics bad guys Deathstroke the Terminator showing up in Suicide Squad. He’s gonna be in the movie! (He wasn’t.) He’s gonna be a hired assassin competing with the Suicide Squad! (He didn’t.) He’s the breakout character in the movie! (He wasn’t.) Scott Eastwood’s gonna play him! (He didn’t.) So, so many stories about this character who wound up not being in the movie at all, in any way.
