The Crown Season 2 and Dexter reruns aren’t the only places Netflix viewers can catch Michael C. Hall. The erstwhile Dexter Morgan will Safe-ly lead a new series from Harlan Coben, joined by a familiar Sherlock star.

You might not be alone to have only caught Netflix’s The Crown after its surprising Golden Globe wins, but Season 2 of the historical Royal Family drama is nonetheless going to turn some heads. Among the attention-grabbing additions of late is none other than Dexter and Six Feet Under star Michael C. Hall, playing none other than John F. Kennedy.

The lack of news on Netflix’s Iron Fist had many worried Marvel had decided to change its fourth Defender, even as brass insisted on launching Jessica Jones before declaring any official Iron Fist news. That day appears at last to have come, now that former Dexter showrunner Scott Buck has been hired to to run Marvel’s final Defender creatively.

Ever the haven of misguided rumors and nonsense tweets, the internet sent Dexter fans into a blood frenzy over the weekend with suggestions that the series might return as a Showtime revival, but consider this lumberjack’s tall tale officially debunked. Showtime may one day call Dexter out of retirement, but it is not this day.

Showtime’s Dexter has certainly chummed the waters now and again with talk of a potential revival, but given the current crop of TV series coming back for limited runs, could our worst fears be closer than we realize? Showtime might just want Dexter to start sharpening his knives.

Showtime surprised relatively few in getting in on the cord-cutting game with its own independent streaming service, aptly-enough titled “Showtime,” though now the (former) pay-cable network has taken things one step further to create a Hulu bundle.

TV has become increasingly on-demand, to the point even HBO caved on a cord-cutting solution, and now Showtime has followed suit. The premium cable network has announced a July launch for its new online streaming subscription, and one cheaper than HBO’s option at that.
