Fans of Julia Louis-Dreyfus want the Emmy-winning actress in good health, and Veep isn’t taking any chances. The HBO comedy will officially postpone filming on the seventh and final season until Louis-Dreyfus has had time to recover from chemotherapy for her breast cancer, thereby placing a premiere in 2019.

HBO’s Veep may have outlasted Selina Meyer’s Vice Presidency and Oval Office tenure, but the series itself must eventually resign. So it is, that star Julia Louis-Dreyfus now confirms next year’s seventh season will be the last for the Emmy-winning political satire.

One of the unexpected delights of this past Sundance Film Festival was Brigsby Bear, whose bizarre humor from star Kyle Mooney (yes, SNL’s Kyle Mooney) charmed audiences and critics alike. It’s about a young lad raised in isolation, whose only connection to the rest of the world outside his family is a TV show about a stuffed bear who goes on adventures. One day, the show suddenly ends, and Mooney must go in search of Brigsby Bear’s conclusion.

It’s an open question how Veep will fare without its title character actually employed in any administration, but Season 6 is nonetheless primed for further humiliation in its April debut. See for yourself, as the first full trailer finds Selina Meyer getting re-acquainted with an old friend, sidestepping both figurative and literal landmines.

It’s hard to choose just one standout actor on HBO’s Veep, since every cast member is perfectly, funny-bone-breakingly hilarious. And now two of those incredibly funny people are stepping out to make what will likely be an incredibly funny movie together.
