Anyone familiar with Richard Adams’ Watership Down can attest to its grim nature, but an upcoming animated miniseries for The BBC and Netflix at least has a bright outlook on its cast. Not only can Star Wars lead John Boyega and several X-Men count themselves among the new voices, so too can Gemma Arterton and more.

‘Aquaman’ does’t hit theaters until 2018, but we’ve already begun hearing early reports about the project, which stars Jason Momoa in the role he was basically born to play with that magnificent damn hair. Previously, it was reported that ‘Mud’ director Jeff Nichols was being eyed to helm the aquatic superhero flick, but it looks like WB has added another name to the mix: ‘300: Rise of an Empire’ director Noam Murro. And rumor has it they’ve also got their sights set on ‘Dredd’ star Karl Urban for a supporting role.

'300: Rise of an Empire' will hit theaters in one week's time, and to give you more of a preview of the action to come, Warner Bros. unleashed six new clips.

'300: Rise of an Empire' was among the many offerings from Legendary Pictures' Comic-Con 2013 panel presentations on Saturday, Jul. 20 in Hall H. Based on Frank Miller's graphic novel 'Xerxes,' the prequel to '300' was originally slated to hit theaters this August but was later moved to March 7, 2014, naturally increasing its level of mystery.

'300: Rise of an Empire' was originally one of our most-anticipated movies of the year ... that is, until Warner Bros. decided to push the release date back from Aug. 2 to Mar. 7, 2014. But while we await the coming bloodshed, the studio has dropped a new poster in anticipation of its upcoming panel at Comic-Con 2013.

Themistokles is pitted against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

We haven't seen a trailer yet for Noam Murro's '300' prequel '300: Rise of an Empire' and now there's a very good reason why not. Today, Warner Brothers bumped the film into 2014, which caused Tom Cruise's 'All You Need is Kill' to move its release date as well.

You might think Zack Snyder is keeping busy, what with post-production on 'Man of Steel' and the latest trailer hitting today, but he broke a near six-month Twitter silence to tweet the debut of the first poster for '300: Rise of an Empire.' And the image definitely makes it look like the last movie, and that it is proud of its producer.
