Here’s a question: Why do the Ninja Turtles wear masks? What could they possibly have to hide? Are they worried people will discover their secret identities as mutant turtles who work as, like, electricians or tech support?

The fourth season finale of Arrow ended on a fairly low-key “Schism,” disappointing a throng of fans who tuned into see if a time-turning Flash twist one-night earlier would ripple out across The CW’s DC dramas. The Arrow finale went by with nary a mention of Central City, but star Stephen Amell thinks the emerald archer will be back to basics in Season 5, rather than dealing with time-travel twists from another series.

TV audiences are less and less trusting of death these days, something Arrow intended to subvert in Season 4 by the killing of a major character. For his part, Stephen Amell insists in a new interview that said character will stay six feet under, but is it a misdirect?

I like that this video explains who the Ninja Turtles are, for the benefit of those people who have been living in a cave (or maybe a sewer) since the late 1980s and have somehow avoided one of the six previous movies, five television shows, hundreds of toys, comics, and video games about these characters. “Oh Donatello is the purple one, ohhhhhh. For the last 30 years, I thought that was Raphael! My bad.”

It’s only been a few weeks since the most recent trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, the sequel to the Michael Bay-produced TMNT picture of 2014, and though it also nicks the Beastie Boys’ “No Sleep Til Brooklyn” for the soundtrack, there are a handful of key differences that distinguish one from the other. Specifically, that this latest spot is chockablock with soundbites that, when taken out of context, could be used by audio editors to form scathing critiques of this film. As the trailer timecounter ticks on, the negative review puns basically write themselves: “We‘re turtles, whether you like it or not.” “This isn’t working!” “We keep failing.” It’s almost like they’re challenging their harshest critics to do their worst.

Stephen Lang has already begun his campaign for the role of Deadpool 2’s Cable, but the Avatar alum very nearly came to play another one-armed future hero. Ahead of tonight’s Legends of Tomorrow trip to “Star City 2046,” the showrunner reveals that they considered older actors, Lang among them, for the role of an older Oliver Queen.

Some heroes may choose to team up in the light, but there’s nothing wrong with a bit of darkness now and again. The Legends of Tomorrow will learn that the hard way, teaming up with not one, but two future Arrow archers for “Star City 2046,” the full photo set of which also reveal the man under the mask of our new Deathstroke.

After hopping around the past a bit, last night saw the Legends of Tomorrow finally hitting the future, albeit a burnt-out version of Sara’s home, “Star City 2046.” The nightmare of future past even had its own Green Arrow, though Oliver Queen was not the one under the hood. We’ve known for some time Legends of Tomorrow would travel to “Star City 2046” to meet a future iteration of Arrow’s Oliver Queen, as well as Connor Hawke, both of which made their photo debut earlier today. Now that the first trailer has arrived however, it seems Deathstroke has been confirmed for a return after all - with a twist.
