Record Number of Animated Films Eligible for Oscar This Year
Since the introduction of the Best Animated Feature Oscar at the 74th Academy Awards in 2002, we’ve seen a steady exponential increase in animated movies over the years. Pixar, and, by extent, Disney, has usually dominated the competition, with eight wins out of ten nominations, followed by DreamWorks and Disney’s animation studio. This year, we have a record 27 movies eligible for the award, and while the Academy can pick only five to nominate, for now it’s anyone’s game.

New ‘Storks’ Trailer Delivers Some Pretty Cute Laughs
Not even sorry about that headline, guys. In more amusing news, here’s the latest trailer for Storks, a new animated adventure from Warner Bros. starring Andy Samberg(’s voice) as a stork who teams up with a human to deliver a bundle of joy to a hopeful family. ‘Storks’ Trailer Finally Explains Where Babies Come From
Where do babies come from? It’s a question we’ve all asked ourselves at one point or another, to no avail. This ancient knowledge has been lost to scholars for centuries — wild-eyed woodsmen would have you believe that a newborn rises from the earth as if from a tulip bulb after spilling the blood of an infant calf on fresh soil under the full moon. The powerful and mysterious scientific community subscribes to a surreal, almost Cronenberg-esque fantasy about fluid exchange, compulsive vomiting and horrific bodily distending. But even after all this investigation, the truth continues to elude the human race. We’ve all seen an infant before, they must come from somewhere, but dammit, where?
Andy Samberg Will Star in Animated ‘Storks’ For Warner Bros.
I’m not a parent, but if I had kids, I know who I would want teaching my children about the miracle of life, and that’s “D--- in a Box” singer Andy Samberg. He seems to have a good grasp of the pertinent parts and their various functions. Apparently, the folks at Warner Bros. agree with me, because they’ve announced that they’re producing an animated movie called Storks that will feature the voice talents of Samberg along with Kelsey Grammer.
