X-Men: Apocalypse

'X-Men: Apocalypse' is the announced sequel to 'X-Men: Days of Future Past,' which sees director Bryan Singer and screenwriter Simon Kinberg crafting a new story centered around one of the most iconic villains of the X-Men comic book universe -- Apocalypse.

As he's awoken, he realizes a need to destroy the world and recruits Magneto, Storm, Psylocke and Angel to help him as his “Four Horseman”. Producer Simon Kinberg recently revealed that the next X-Men sequel will take place during the ’90s, which is fairly unsurprising given that it follows the decade-by-decade pattern of the recent trilogy. That doesn’t tell us much about their plans for the next chapter of the X-Men saga, but Bryan Singer has put forth an idea that may give us a hint about where the story is heading.

When we talk about a “trend” in Hollywood, what we’re really talking about is someone having a good idea and then a lot of people copying it. When the trailer for The Social Network arrived with a haunting choral version of Radiohead’s “Creep,” it felt special, and it made the movie feel special too...

When Nightcrawler broke into the White House at the start of 2003’s X2, it felt like more than a watershed moment in the history of comic book movies; it felt like a miracle. Here was one of comics’ most fantastical characters — a blue-skinned, three-fingered German demon with a pointy, prehensile tail and teleportation powers — brought to life with all of his outlandish quirks and powers intact, showcased in a sequence that was thrilling and utterly convincing. It was something no one had ever seen before. It was truly uncanny.

X-Men: Apocalypse doesn’t hit theaters until May 27, but the first reviews will arrive on the evening of May 9, showcasing a fair amount of confidence from Fox — particularly with Civil War arriving this weekend. While we wait for the first reactions from critics to trickle in, Jennifer Lawrence has released a new clip from Bryan Singer’s upcoming sequel, featuring Kodi Smit-McPhee’s Nightcrawler and Ben Hardy’s Angel battling it out in a cage match.

Much can change between a movie’s initial trailer and the finished film (like that Anakin Skywalker reference in The Force Awakens). Visual FX will be finalized, scenes may be cut in the editing process to improve the narrative flow, additional footage might be incorporated, and additional dialogue may be recorded. That last one is particularly relevant for X-Men: Apocalypse, as you may have noticed that the titular villain’s voice changed quite a bit between the first trailer and the more recent sneak peeks.

Although you’d never know it from the film’s trailers, X-Men: Apocalypse is set in the 80s and, in certain set photos we’ve seen, there is a very 80s aesthetic to the movie. One X-Men character who seemingly would fit perfect into this world is Dazzler, a mutant with the ability to convert sound vibrations into light and energy beams, who was also a pop star...

Rose Byrne's Moira MacTaggert has some 'splainin' to do. No, literally. She has an explanation she would like to share with you in the latest clip from X-Men: Apocalypse. Not nearly as clever as last week's viral video featuring narration from George Takei, the new clip features Byrne describing Oscar Isaac's big bad and what makes him so big and bad.

Director Bryan Singer and producer Simon Kinberg have previously expressed a desire to keep the X-Men franchise going, as they transition their focus onto the younger cast of mutants. That includes Tye Sheridan, who plays Scott Summers, aka Cyclops, in X-Men: Apocalypse. According to Sheridan, that film may just be the beginning of his role in the franchise, as the up and coming actor has signed on for two more sequels.

Bryan Singer Says Wolverine Cameo in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Is ‘Birth of a New Direction’
Earlier this week came the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer that confirmed what we all suspected: Wolverine would be making an appearance in the upcoming X-Men movie after all. Most of us also assumed that decision was made because Hugh Jackman is a huge star and Wolverine is the most popular and recognizable of the X-Men and having him in the movie means more $$$...
