The third time’s the charm for How I Met Your Mother spinoff How I Met Your Father, but it might also be the Worst. A third attempt at resuscitating the romantic comedy franchise now has a familiar writer from FXX’s You’re The Worst, and perhaps a revamped premise.

If you thought Jimmy and Gretchen were insufferable together, wait until you see them apart. The former fiancées find solace in Soft Cell with a karaoke-fied first official trailer for You’re The Worst Season 4.

In the Golden Age of television — or Peak TV, or “oh god, please stop, I have enough to watch already” — shows aren’t just more cinematic, they’re offering us more of everything. That includes more sex scenes, which have become increasingly prevalent, revealing, daring and yes, even artful, reinforcing the notion that TV has become more like film. We recently chose the 25 best movie sex scenes of the last 25 years, and with the smaller screen’s growing resemblance to its big screen brethren, we thought it only right to do the same for television. We also assumed that making a list of the 25 best TV sex scenes of the last 20 years would be far easier and much less surprising. Spoiler alert: We were wrong.

Oh sweet Sunday Funday, You’re The Worst is back. The fan-favorite and critical darling FXX comedy has officially put an end to our misery with a September premiere date for Season 4, joined by Pamela Adlon’s FX Better Things.

FX has made a few surprising cancellations of late, but isn’t about to give up one of its most well-received comedies anytime soon. You’re the Worst will officially return for a fourth season on sister network FXX, airing in 2017.

These days, it'd take at least two years to watch only only one season's worth of #PeakTV, a quarter of which won't even be around a second year. That time of year is upon us again, as this coming Thursday, July 14 sees the announcement of the 2016 Emmy Awards nominations, in a field that seems tougher by each year. Favorites like Game of Thrones hit new levels of spectacle this year, while newcomers like UnREAL and Mr. Robot could split the nominations wide open.
