Well, when your greatest claim to fame is being the earliest living man to walk on the surface of the moon, what else are you going to do? The last few years have seen a wealth of Hollywood appearances for legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin, popping up in everything from '30 Rock' to 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon,' but will an upcoming appearance on 'The Big Bang Theory' season 6 prove to be the final frontier?

Perhaps some of the most mutually beneficial casting we've heard in years, The Hollywood Reporter has informed us that iconic astronaut and moon-walker Buzz Aldrin has signed up to appear on an upcoming episode of CBS' science-y mega-hit 'The Big Bang Theory.' Aldrin will make a quick appearance in the show's October 25 episode "The Holographic Excitation," of course cameoing as himself.

While 'The Big Bang Theory' has utilized a wealth of both science and science-fiction casting alike over the past five seasons, Aldrin will coincidentally once again be the second astronaut to reach the milestone, given that real-life astronaut Mike Massimino already recurs as himself on the series as part of Howard (Simon Helberg)'s shuttle crew.

Aldrin isn't the only outer-space name associated with upcoming episodes either, as both 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' stars Levar Burton and Wil Wheaton will reprise their roles as themselves in the November 8 episode.

What say you? Could Buzz Aldrin's appearance on 'The Big Bang Theory' be the ultimate casting on either side, topping the below video? What names would you like to see make an appearance on the show?
