What started with 'Shaun of the Dead' and continued with 'Hot Fuzz' will conclude with 'The World's End', the third comedy in Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright's so-called "Cornetto Trilogy." While the two lads will almost certainly collaborate on future projects, this is the end of a significant body of work for millions of film fans, to be sure. So let's celebrate with two new pictures and a unholy amount of beer, what do you say?

Empire Magazine has just debuted two new images from the apocalyptic comedy, the plot for which is still mostly under wraps. All we know is that it centers on five adult friends who attempt to recreate an epic pub crawl from their youth and in the process stumble upon something that could potentially end the world. Or as Pegg simply puts it, "It's a much bigger proposition than the other two films."

Pegg and Wright's refusal to spill the beans on the film's plot twists is acceptable, since we trust these two profoundly. It also doesn't hurt that alongside Pegg in the film's cast are Nick Frost (his mate from 'Shaun of the Dead', 'Hot Fuzz' and 'Paul'), Martin Freeman (aka Bilbo Baggins), Paddy Considine ('Hot Fuzz') and Eddie Marsan ('Sherlock Holmes'). The very proposition that we'll watch this group of unlikely heroes get progressively drunker as the situation becomes more dire is enough to shoot 'The World's End' to the forefront of our 2013 must-see list.

The pub crawl starts on August 14th in the UK and on October 25th in the US. Take a peek at the pics below and let us know what you think!
