Tilda Swinton is known for transforming herself for her roles. She aged herself a few decades for her part in The Grand Budapest Hotel, she went bald for Doctor Strange, and perhaps her weirdest look was the false-toothed Margaret Thatcher-type she played in 2014’s Snowpiercer. Well, weirdest until now, that is. Recent set photos from the Suspiria remake seem to show an older gentleman exiting his trailer — except, that’s no man, that’s Tilda Swinton.

This is even wilder than Gary Oldman’s Winston Churchill transformation. Is Tilda even in there? If you look reeeeally closely, you can see her in the eyes and maybe the shape of the mouth, but man. Props to the makeup department, because I’m still suspicious.

Thing is, she’s not even playing a man in the movie. She was cast as Madame Blanc, the sinister proprietress of the ballet academy that constitutes the setting of the movie. Madame Blanc is, obviously, a woman, so who could this character be? A new addition? A ruse to throw the paparazzi off the scent? A combination of characters? In the original, the main character Suzy goes to visit a psychologist (played by Udo Kier) who knows some weird stuff about the history of the ballet academy, so they might be having Swinton play him too.

Suspiria, which also stars Dakota Johnson, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Mia Goth, is directed by Luca Guadagnino.
