Sure, like most outlets we cracked a joke that 'Touch's recent cancellation would allow series star Kiefer Sutherland to finally get that long-stalled '24' movie off the ground, but who's laughing in real-time now? New reports have emerged that the Jack Bauer franchise will return to FOX as a limited series, with Kiefer Sutherland in talks to reprise his famous role. Find out if '24' will really return inside!

Keep a spit bucket handy for the massive amount of salt you should ingest this news with, but it seems '24' may finally return from the grave after all. Following news of 'Touch's predicted cancellation, Deadline reports that series star Kiefer Sutherland has entered talks with FOX to revive '24' as a limited series in the near future.

'24' showrunner and current 'Homeland' head Howard Gordon reportedly pitched the idea to FOX, starting from scratch with a new arc that returns Jack Bauer to action. No word if the revived series would involved Antoine Fuqua's aborted movie ideas, or indeed any of the previous pitches to get the dormant series on its feet again.

What say you? Are you as surprised as we are to hear a '24' revival may finally happen? Where would you like to see Jack Bauer end up next?
