James Patterson’s iconic private investigator Alex Cross is a legend among the author’s rabid fan base. The character transitioned to the big screen once with Morgan Freeman (for two films). He’s about to come back to the big screen with Tyler Perry in the role. Yet we can’t take our eyes off his lunatic adversary in these early promo images for the upcoming thriller ‘Alex Cross.’
Believe it or not, that’s ‘Lost’ lead Matthew Fox in these images (courtesy of The Film Stage). Fox plays Picasso, a serial killer who takes the fight directly to Cross and his close-knit family. Rob Cohen directs the latest Cross feature film, which also stars Ed Burns (pictured), Jean Reno, Rachel Nichols, John C. McGinley, Giancarlo Esposito and Cicely Tyson as the beloved Nana Mama.
Patterson’s ‘Cross’ series is a film franchise waiting to happen. Freeman was miscast as the rugged, brilliant D.C. detective, though Perry could be an inspired choice. And if Fox is willing to go all method to play a madman, this could be a damn good thriller.
‘Alex Cross’ is due in theaters on Oct. 26.
