Anna Faris to Star in CBS Sitcom 'Mom' For Chuck LorreKevin Fitzpatrick |
A few weeks ago we heard that sitcom magnate, and 'Two and a Half Men, 'Mike & Molly' and 'The Big Bang Theory' creator Chuck Lorre was looking to get even deeper into the CBS pool, developing new female-centric sitcom 'Mom.' At the time it was thought that 'Mom's' development could mean the end of one of his other series, but now it seems all four might be on track. We've just learned acclaimed comedienne and Hollywood star Anna Faris has signed on to play the titular mother, but what's 'Mom' all about?
As CBS continues to dominate the universe ('The Big Bang Theory' last night scoring its highest numbers ever with 19 million viewers), the network may add even more star power to its name. Hollywood star Anna Faris has reportedly signed on for the title role in sitcom mogul Chuck Lorre's latest project 'Mom,' being eyed for a fall 2013 premiere.
Featuring Faris as a newly sober single mother trying to get her life together in scenic Napa Valley, California, 'Mom' has received a pilot production order, to be produced with ‘Two And A Half Men’ executive producer Eddie Gorodetsky and story editor Gemma Baker. The series also marks Lorre’s first female-centric comedy since 1990′s hits ‘Grace Under Fire’ and ‘Cybill.’
Should 'Two and a Half Men' make it to an eleventh season, 'Mom' would mark Chuck Lorre's fourth CBS sitcom on the air, if also given a green light.
What say you? does Anna Faris in 'Mom' sound like the next big hit for CBS and Chuck Lorre? Sound off in the comments!
